Clarity on how nicotine is displayed in the future
We’re excited to let you know about a small tweak we’re making to our e-liquid labels! Our goal? To make it easier for you to pick the perfect nicotine strength for your vaping needs and to make sure our packaging aligns with new regulatory requirements. Here’s what’s happening and why it’s good news for you.
What’s Changing?
- Front Label: Starting now, the front of our bottles will show the “freebase equivalent” nicotine strength. It’s a simple way to compare nicotine levels across different vape products.
- Back Label: The nicotine strength you’re used to seeing will still be on the back, so you’ve got all the info you need.
Why Are We Doing This?
We want you to feel confident when choosing your e-liquid. Whether you’re sticking with us or trying something new, the “freebase equivalent” on the front makes it super easy to compare nicotine strengths. It’s all about keeping things clear and straightforward for you!
Don’t Worry—Nothing Inside Has Changed
The liquid in the bottle—its flavour, smoothness, and nicotine kick—is exactly the same as always. We’re just updating the label to make it easier to understand. Your vaping experience? Still top-notch.
What’s “Freebase Equivalent” Anyway?
No complicated jargon here! Nicotine in vapes comes in two types:
- Nicotine Salts: Smooth and satisfying, often stronger but gentler on your throat.
- Freebase Nicotine: The classic kind with a bit more kick.
The “freebase equivalent” shows how strong the nicotine feels compared to freebase, even if it’s a salt inside. For example:
A bottle with a “20 mg/mL freebase equivalent” on the front might show “36 mg/mL” (the actual salt strength) on the back. It’s the same vibe as vaping 20 mg/mL of freebase.
Clear as day, right?
What to Expect Right Now
We’re rolling this out across all our brands (it started with Vorteke Maxx last year!). So, for a little while, you might see both:
- Old Labels: Nicotine salt strength (like 36 mg/mL) on the front, with the freebase equivalent on the back.
- New Labels: Freebase equivalent (like 20 mg/mL) on the front, salt strength on the back.
Either way, the nicotine inside is exactly what you ordered. Check the back label if you’re curious—it’s got the full scoop.
Got Questions?
Here are a few we’ve heard already:
-
Q: Why switch the front to freebase equivalent?
A: It’s an easy way to compare strengths, so you know exactly what you’re getting. -
Q: Is the nicotine different now?
A: Nope! Same amount, same quality—just a clearer label. -
Q: Why do some bottles look different?
A: We’re updating everything now, so you might see old and new labels for a bit.
